Bringing Back 80's Crimped Hair

The 80's were a decade full of banana clips and scrunchies, vinyl records, the rubix cube and of course BIG HAIR!! Let’s face it, big hair is something that really has never gone out of style. So as we fall face first into an era many hoped we would never repeat, let's embrace it as stylists. That’s where I get all my inspiration. I blend decades and cultures with textures to create what I feel is on trend. Being a stylist with such a diverse clientele allows me to create and remove textures to make hair more favorable for my clients.
I’ve recently become obsessed with the Avanti Ultra 5- wave ceramic crimping iron, which was a big 80’s fad. Pairing volume with texture may seem like a little more work, but the foundation it sets for any style is impressive. I particularly enjoy crimped hair as it mimics the texture of an afro when done correctly. The control and shapes this change of texture allows you to make as a stylist will take your styling to the next level. Embrace hair by texture not race.
